Stuffy nose and colds

Stuffy nose (cold)

A stuffy nose; almost everyone suffers from it. One occasionally, and with the other the nose remains (chronically) closed. And everything in between. A clogged condition is caused by swelling of the mucous membranes in the nose. In addition, the mucous membranes make extra mucus, which quickly clogs the nose.

Causes of a stuffy nose?

The reason that the mucous membranes start to swell can have several causes. Think of a cold (virus). Because this is the most common reason, people often say ‘I have a cold’ when the nose is full of mucus. This does not mean that it is also a cold. There are also many other reasons that can cause the nose to become stuffy, which have nothing to do with the common cold virus. Think of allergies, hay fever and a hypersensitivity of the mucous membranes.

Common cold

short cold

The common cold is a virus that is especially visible in the autumn and winter months. Such a cold often goes away on its own and the nose is cleared again.
For a quick solution, a nasal spray based on xylometazoline is often chosen. The nasal spray ensures that the swelling of the mucous membranes decreases. Usually one can quickly breathe freely through the nose again. If this nasal spray is not used for more than 5-7 days, it is a great solution. If the cold lasts longer or if you prefer to use a natural solution, choose Capsinol.

long cold

If the cold lasts longer than 7 days, stop using the xylometazoline nasal spray. If such a nasal spray is used for more than 7 days, the nose may become dependent on it. Capsinol nasal spray offers a good alternative. Capsinol not only fights the symptoms (which xylometazoline does), the pepper really tackles the problem. The pepper stimulates the mucous membranes, so that they start to defend themselves and solve the problem themselves. This also builds up the resistance of the nose for a longer period of time.

Note: It may take longer before the effect is noticeable (up to 2 weeks). It also sometimes happens that the nose is a little more closed at first. Really give Capsinol some time.

Allergy (hay fever)

Many people suffer from allergies, such as animal hair, dust mites and pollen. In these cases, Capsinol does not solve the allergy problem itself. It can, however, reduce additional complaints, such as (temporarily) clearing the blocked nose.

Capsinol Mild Formula is the best choice for hay fever. This formula contains feverfew and this is said to have a beneficial effect to reduce hay fever symptoms.

Hypersensitive mucous membranes (idiopathic rhinitis)

In addition to allergic nasal symptoms, there can also be a hypersensitivity of the mucous membranes without an identifiable cause. The nose reacts directly to substances from outside without there being an allergy. Due to this hypersensitivity, people often have chronic nasal complaints such as a stuffy or runny nose. This can also spread to the sinuses, causing a sinus infection or sinus infection.

Especially with this hypersensitivity (called ‘idiopathic rhinitis’ in medical terms), Capsinol nasal spray can really offer a solution. The capsaicin (substance in red pepper) in Capsinol ensures that the nasal mucosa becomes less sensitive to external substances. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and builds up the resistance of the mucous membranes. The pepper stimulates the nose to ‘defend’ itself and thus learns to solve the nasal complaints itself. This makes the nose less sensitive to dust and therefore will not quickly become clogged.

Result in the longer term

When Capsinol is effective, you no longer need a nasal spray for a longer period of time. Your chronic stuffy nose will then be a thing of the past. This effect can often last up to a year (and even longer).

How fast and how long it works varies greatly per person/nose. For one person, Capsinol really offers a long-term solution, the other continues to use it with some regularity. Sometimes it also happens that the nose does not react to the pepper. We cannot estimate this in advance; it really depends on the nose and less on the type of complaints. In any case, it is important to give Capsinol a little longer, it can take up to 2 weeks before real results are noticeable.

We also know that Capsinol has already achieved good results for many people. Those who have often been looking for a solution for years in vain and have finally found it.
