Oscar: I relied on chemical nasal spray for at least eleven years. I recently realised just how long when I spotted an old photo from 2004 with a bottle of nasal spray on the table. After years of trying, I was finally able to stop using nasal spray the way I used to. To help others who recognise this struggle, I’d like to share my story.
How it started
It must have been about eleven to thirteen years ago. I had a stuffy nose and bought a nasal spray from the chemist. That first spray was like a breath of fresh air: my nose opened within seconds. But after a while, the stuffiness came back, worse than before. The only way to breathe again was to spray more. And so the cycle began.
Before long, I couldn’t go anywhere without my spray. School, work, family visits, holidays. I always had a few bottles in stock. Spraying in public? I avoided it. I’d go to the bathroom just to use my spray in private.
Trying everything to stop using nasal spray
At first I didn’t even realise how dependent I’d become. But after a few years, having to spray every few hours just to breathe became exhausting. I went to my GP, tried prescription sprays, tried steaming with herbs, rinsing with salt water, natural sprays, herbal sprays. I tried simply stopping cold turkey. Nothing worked. My nose stayed shut. I resigned myself to the idea that this was just how it would be, forever.
Discovering Capsinol
Then, a few weeks ago, I saw that old photo and decided to search online one more time. That’s how I found Capsinol. After reading some positive experiences from others, I decided to give it a chance.
The bottle arrived the very next day. I waited until bedtime for my first spray. It was certainly intense, but you get used to it quickly. And then something happened: lying in bed, I noticed my nose gradually opening up. A genuine surprise.
Two weeks later
We’re now two weeks in, and the difference is remarkable. Three weeks ago I was spraying every two to three hours. Now, with the help of Capsinol, I’ve managed to go two full days without my old spray. Sometimes when my nose is really blocked, I still need it briefly, but then I can go a good while without. In between, I use Capsinol a few times a day, which is far less than I used to spray before.
I don’t know if I’ll ever be completely free of my old habit. But my first experience with Capsinol has been genuinely positive. I’ve actually gone out a few times without a nasal spray in my pocket, and with an open nose. For me, that’s a huge win.
Thank you, Capsinol!
