What is nasal spray addiction
Nasal spray addiction is quite a big problem in the Netherlands and Belgium. Many people do not know that a nasal spray based on xylometazoline can only be used for one week in a row. Such nasal sprays are widely available over the counter. As a result, people seem to see less of the danger of continuing to spray. Or they have not read the package insert (properly), so that they do not know.
In many other European countries, such nasal sprays can only be purchased with a doctor’s prescription. Nasal spray addiction is almost non-existent in these countries. In our country, too, there is an increasing plea to stop xylometazoline nasal sprays from being freely available. But for now, the nasal spray addict is still sniffing freely.
What Causes Nasal Spray Addiction?
The active substance xylometazoline makes the nasal mucosa thinner, so that the blocked feeling in the nose disappears. Because the active substances also widen the blood vessels, the nasal mucosa becomes thicker again. This causes the nose to sit closer again.
The consequence; the nasal spray user continues to use the nasal spray to get rid of the stuffy feeling in the nose. If you continue to use the nasal spray for too long, a dependence occurs. Without administration of xylometazoline, the nose will simply remain closed. Not being able to breathe through the nose is very uncomfortable. As a result, many people continue to use the nasal spray. This creates a nasal spray addiction.
Symptoms of a Nasal Spray Addiction
A nasal spray addiction can be recognized by using a nasal spray for more than two weeks. That can be; every night before going to sleep or that you have the bottle with you all day long. You need the nasal spray to keep the nose clear. You cannot breathe freely without a nasal spray. The xylometazoline affects the cilia and nasal mucosa. The cilia provide protection against cold viruses. As a result, this protection is lost, so that the cold symptoms increase sooner.
Solution for Nasal Spray Addiction
A nasal spray addiction can be remedied again. One solution is to simply stop using this xylometazoline nasal spray. As a result, the blood vessels recover and the nasal mucosa will become less thick. The congested feeling disappears again. This is not a good solution for most people. It does cause some discomfort during the recovery period. Another solution is to reduce it per nostril, so that you always have air on one side.
But this is not a good solution for everyone. You can’t take the inconveniences for granted and you just want both nostrils clear. Or the drug habit does not work because you suffer from chronic nasal complaints. Neither method offers you a solution. The dependence may be gone, but the nasal symptoms do not disappear. In this case, choose Capsinol nasal spray.
Capsinol nasal spray for long-term use
Capsinol nasal spray can offer a very good solution for people with chronic nasal complaints. Capsinol is an all-natural nasal spray. This can be used indefinitely and is not harmful to the nose. The capsaicin (this is the hot substance from the red pepper) in the Capsinol nasal spray inhibits the overactive nervous system, which reduces mucus production in the nose. The capsaicin is also anti-inflammatory. In addition, it builds up the resistance of the nasal mucosa (note: this process takes about 2 weeks!). This makes the nose less sensitive to external substances, which means that you are less likely to catch a cold. This effect can last up to a year. This way you can breathe freely through the nose again in a natural way.
Medical examination
Medical research has also shown capsaicin to be effective for chronic nasal complaints. And that it is not harmful to the nose. It has no adverse effect on the sense of smell or the nasal mucosa (on the contrary positive), even with regular use. There is no addictive effect.
For many people it is enough to use Capsinol Nasal Spray for a period of time until the nasal symptoms have disappeared. After that, the complaints can disappear for a longer period of time (on average 1 year). This differs greatly from person to person. Where one after 1 bottle has already been helped, the other continues to use it regularly. It also doesn’t work for everyone, not every nose reacts to the pepper. In general, people will use less and less nasal spray with Capsinol.
Given the many good results with Capsinol, it is definitely worth trying to get rid of the nasal spray addiction!
