Which Capsinol Formula Is Right for You?

Capsinol comes in five formulas. Three are built around capsaicin from chilli peppers (Original, Mild, Extra Strong), one is a capsaicin-free spray for hay fever season, and one is a moisturising nasal oil. This page is a clear, honest comparison to help you choose.

If you only read one line: most people start with Original. It’s our bestseller for a reason. The other formulas exist for specific situations.

Capsinol Original Formula the all-rounder

Our most popular formula. Standard capsaicin level, balanced with xylitol and eucalyptus. Designed for everyday use by people dealing with chronic or recurring congestion. Read how capsaicin works.

Choose Original if:

  • You’re new to Capsinol and want to start with the standard option
  • You have chronic blocked nose, sinus pressure, or non-allergic rhinitis
  • You’re recovering from rebound congestion after using conventional sprays
  • You want a natural daily spray you can use long-term

Capsinol Mild Formula the gentle introduction

Same ingredients as Original, but with a softer capsaicin level. The warming sensation is significantly less noticeable. Designed for sensitive users or people who’d rather start gently.

Choose Mild if:

  • You have a sensitive nose
  • You’re worried about the warming sensation of Original
  • You’re using a capsaicin nasal spray for the first time
  • You want to ease into capsaicin gradually

Capsinol Extra Strong for stubborn cases

Higher capsaicin concentration. Designed for experienced users who’ve already used Original and want more intensity, or for cases where standard treatments haven’t been enough.

Choose Extra Strong if:

  • You’ve already used Original or Mild and want more effect
  • You have severe chronic congestion or sinus pressure
  • You’re an experienced capsaicin user (this is not a starter formula)

Don’t start here. The intensity will be too much for most first-time users. Begin with Original or Mild and work up if needed.

Capsinol Hay Fever Formula for pollen season

A separate, gentle formula designed specifically for seasonal hay fever. This formula does not contain capsaicin. There is no warming or tingling sensation. It targets seasonal nasal discomfort without antihistamines and without drowsiness.

Choose Hay Fever if:

  • Your symptoms peak during spring and summer
  • You react strongly to pollen, grass, or tree allergens
  • You want a non-antihistamine approach to hay fever
  • You’ve found antihistamines aren’t enough on their own
  • You prefer a spray without any warming or tingling sensation

Capsinol Nasal Oil the soother

Different from the spray formulas: no capsaicin. This is a moisturising nasal oil designed for dry, irritated, or recovering nasal passages.

Choose Nasal Oil if:

  • Your nose is dry, sore, or cracked
  • You’re recovering from a cold or sinus infection
  • You spend a lot of time in air-conditioned or heated rooms
  • You want something to use alongside Original or Hay Fever for extra comfort

Nasal Oil pairs well with any of the other formulas. Many users keep both: a capsaicin spray for daily nasal care and Nasal Oil for dryness or irritation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use more than one formula at a time?
Yes. Many users combine a capsaicin spray (Original, Mild, or Extra Strong) with Nasal Oil for chronic dryness. You can also use a capsaicin spray year-round and switch to Hay Fever Formula during pollen season. Don’t combine two capsaicin formulas at the same time.

What if Original feels too intense?
Switch to Mild. Same ingredients, gentler effect. You can still use Original later when you’re more accustomed to the sensation.

How long until I see results?
Most people notice some difference within the first week. Full effect usually takes 1 to 2 weeks of consistent twice-daily use. Read how capsaicin works.

Is one formula better for night-time use?
The capsaicin formulas (Original, Mild, Extra Strong) work the same way around the clock. Consistency matters more than timing. Most people use them morning and evening.

Does Hay Fever Formula contain capsaicin?
No. Hay Fever Formula and Nasal Oil are the two products that do not contain capsaicin. They are designed for different purposes: Hay Fever for seasonal pollen discomfort, Nasal Oil for dry or irritated nasal passages.

Still not sure?

If you’ve never used Capsinol before, start with Original. It’s the standard, the bestseller, and the right choice for the vast majority of people. If after 2 weeks you find it too intense, switch to Mild. If after 2 weeks you want more effect, switch to Extra Strong.
